Real talk, up until a year ago I was a face wipe and drugstore moisturizer girl. But now in my 30’s I felt like it was time to get serious about my skincare routine. Now I am hooked on the ritual. I would consider my skin "combination". I have dryness around my nose and an oily T-zone. Getting a better understanding of my skin type was key to finding products that work for me.
I use the Derma E Cleanser Rose Oil Cleanser in the morning and at night. I am not going to lie, an oil cleanser freaked me out at first. But since adding this to my regime I will never go back. I massage it in to my skin and remove with a clean towel with warm water. No matter how tired I am I wash my face both morning and night.
In the morning after cleansing I use the Derma E day cream and Vitamin C moisturizer. At night I use the hydrating night cream after cleansing.
Every few days I will use Derma E Purifying Charcoal mask. This is extremely helpful during hormonal breakouts.
I started Botox in 2015 and now use Dysport a similar but softer version. I get it in my forehead, crows feet and forehead frown lines also known as "11's". This minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. I have also received under eye filler and cheek augmentation with Juvaderm. You can read more about my experience here>>
A year ago I started doing daily gua sha facial massages. Gua Sha is an ancient eastern asian technique that has been show to increase collagen production and stimulate lymphatic drainage. Gua sha is defined as instrument-assisted unidirectional press-stroking of a lubricated area of the body surface to intentionally create transitory therapeutic petechiae called ‘sha’ representing extravasation of blood in the subcutis. Since beginning gua sha facial massages I have seen a huge change in my skin.
Bring face wipes with you to your workout. Cleanse skin of sweat immediately after your workout to avoid pore being clogged.
Use a clean towel to wipe sweat off during workout to keep sweat from drying on your skin.
Wash and moisturize your face every morning and night. This helps remove impurities and prevents future break outs.
Wash sheets and pillow cases regularly.
