Gyms can be intimidating especially when you are first starting up working out. Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Truly all you need is your body. Designate a small area of your home to your workout gear. Preferably somewhere in your normal line of sight. You will be more likely to workout if you are reminded daily.

1. Yoga Mat
This is an essential workout item. Invest your own yoga mat and make any level surface in to your workout area. Also most yoga classes and bootcamp style classes require you to have your own. Avoid paying a rental fee by owning your own. They also come in cute designs and patterns if you want to be styling while you get your yoga on.
2. Dumb Bells
Ladies it’s time to pick up the weights! Weight training is the most efficient way to reduce inches overall. Weight training has been proven to increase metabolism and build lean muscle mass. More lean muscle mass= more fat loss. Use a weight heavy enough that you are able to complete 8-10 reps. For most women I recommend starting with 8-10 lbs for beginners 10-15 for intermediate to advanced.
3. Kettle Bell
Kettle bells are very versatile fitness tool. There are workouts solely based on the use of the kettle bell. I often see them in the fitness section of discount stores like Tjmaxx and Marshalls. While kettle bell swings are very effective in reducing the hip and thigh area it is important to focus on getting the technique right on this move.
While a dry erase board may not seem like a home gym item, planning is a HUGE key for success.Use a small white board to plan your
workouts for the week. You can also use your white board to track your athletic progress. Keep track of your max rep plank, push ups ect. If you improve athletically your body will follow.
Even if you do not have any of this equipment you can get started with body weight workouts. Start where you are and use what you have!
